CBS Films have just announced via Beastly Movie’s Facebook that the teen fantasy, Beastly which was previously scheduled to be released July 30, 2010 will now be released 8 months later, March 18, 2011. No doubt, this is extremely disappointing as we have looked forward to seeing Beastly this summer. To have that built up anticipation shafted in the manner that it has been, is, suffice it to say, not very impressive at all.

An interesting fact is that this new date means Beastly will be released just a week before Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch, also starring Vanessa, in a very, very, different adult role. So what is it going to be? Vanessa the sweet 16 or Vanessa the sultry siren?

A lot has already been said and a lot more will yet be said and written. It is not yet the time for a lot of words. There is still a while to go before the circus starts and the dynamics become clearer. For now, I remain quietly bemused.

If anything, at least March 2011  will certainly prove an interesting month here at Team Hudgens with two movies starring Vanessa Hudgens in contrasting roles being released back to back. Along with the associated drama. We will be supplying popcorns (salted or sweet) and sodas, for sure.
